What did the dewan do in order to save his job
Answers
The Dewan managed to "plant" the tiger where Maharaja was hunting tigers.
Explanation:
- It is taken from the story "The Tiger King".
- The astrologer said that a tiger will kill the king and to escape this prophecy he had to kill 100 tigers.
- The Dewan had a tiger he got from People's park in Madras, the king told him that he will face consequences if he won't help him kill 100 tigers.
Hundredth tiger had become almost impossible to find. The Tiger King wanted to kill it and be free of this curse and burden for ever. However, everything else was available except a tiger. The delay in killing the hundredth tiger infuriated and enraged the king. He became very panicky and started taking bizarre decisions. The Dewan realized if the Tiger King did not kill hundredth tiger soon, he could take any mad decision; in such a state the king could even sack him. So, he arranged an old tiger from a zoo in Madras, took it and released it near the camp of the King in the forest. The tiger strayed into the king’s camp; seeing it, the King became happy and shot it. The tiger fell on the ground. Assuming the tiger dead, the King rejoicing, went to his palace. The bullet missed the tiger; but tiger had fallen hearing the loud sound of the gun. This tiger was later killed by King’s assistant hunters.
