shifting cultivation is process in which farmers cut trees and ckear land for cultivation.They also burns the uprooted trees and mix their ashes in the soil so as to increse the fertility of soil.After cultivation and harvesting they move on other land and repeat same process. The eupopean banned it because in this process, there are also chances of Forest fire , loss of fertility and for stability in the state . They wnted to control the nomadic tribes.
