what did the monotheistic movement represent and in what manner was it different from Vaishnava bhakti ?

Ans-The aspect of the Bhakti Movement was ardent belief in one God. This was termed as Monotheistic Movement. The Monotheistic Bhakti was nirgunabhakti or belief in one form of God and not sagunaor belief in various human incarnations of God. Namdev's teachings became so popular that they were later absorbed in the AdiGranth. The major figures of this movement are Kabir and Nanak also.Ramanand was the most prominent scholar saint of the Vaishnava Bhakti in northern India.Tulsidas and Mirabai championed the cause of Rama bhakti and Krishna bhakti. Ramanujadrew his teachings from the Upanishads and the Bhagvad Gita.Chaitanya disregarded all distinctions of caste,Creed and sex to give a popular base to Krishna bhakti. In Maharashtra,Jnaneswar was the author of many hymns. Other prominent saints were Namdev, Eknath and Tukaram.

Answer!!

The monotheistic movement represented bhakti of only one God, ie; was non-incarnate and formless, eternal and ineffable. It was different from Vaishnava bhakti as monotheistic movement believed in one God which is formless, eternal where as the Vaishnava bhakti believed in many Gods.
