The new dynasties performed religious rituals to show them as kshatriyas , they took new titles , they took part in war so as to shw their power and also make their kingdoms to gain acceptance.

The new dynasties were generally recognized by the existing kings as their subordinates or Samantas. They amassed wealth and gained power to declare themselves as Mahasamantas, Maha-mandaleshwara and such. They asserted their own independence from their overlords. They also performed rituals like Hiranya-garbha to declare themselves as Kshatriyas, with the help of Brahmanas. They fought their neighbors to gain power and also built temples to acknowledge it.
