People in forested regions  provide elephants, timbers, Rubber and medicines  to the Mauryan rulers tried to control roads and rivers which were important for transport.

The waste  land in forests were utilized fully by the plantation.in Mayran empire there was much improvement in agriculture . government provide Seeds of various crops  he They  had their own flower, fruit, and vegetable-gardens . There were numbers of who work  for wages,and some of them were slavery .  Buddhism during Ashoka,s empire put a social stigma to the agricultural labourer . The State maintain cattle-farms,, and daily farms, and employed the many people .

Irrigation system  was  implied by the govenment. It controlled the distribution of water by sluicegates.
