Before the dust of snow fell on him the poet was in a very pensive and regretful mood.

EXPLANATION:

In the very short poem 'Dust of Snow', by the American Nature poet Robert Frost, the poet describes the sudden change in the mood of the poet by a very small action of a crow.

The poet tries to bring out the difference in the nature of man and animals.  Man is a very complex creature with strong emotions. So in the first stanza the poet describes how regretful and sad he had been till a crow showered on him a dust of snow.

The second stanza reflects the simplicity of the crow and again the complexity in the mind of man. His mood suddenly changes and he becomes happy. Thus man is highly unpredictable.
