The members of the third estate were not happy with the pattern of voting in the estates general, as they and their votes were not given much importance. They were considered minority. Not every member of the the third estate enjoyed the priviledge of voting,as the richer members like big buisnessman, lawyers, etc. only could represent the third estate.

1.  King called the Estate general (the political body of France) to pass the proposals for new taxes, as the king alone was not supposed to take decision on the subjects like taxes.

2.  Each estate was given one vote.

3.  But this time third estate representatives demanded 1 vote for each representative.

4.  As king rejected their proposal, the 3rdestate representatives walked out of the assembly.
