In Leo Tolstoy's "Three Questions", a bearded man,who wanted to take revenge on the Tsar for his brother's execution and seizing his property, was injured seriously in his stomach by the Tsar's bodyguard. But the received that wounded man and repeatedly washed his wound and bandaged there till blood stopped flowing. Then he was taken to the hermit's hut for rest at the coming night. In the morning, realising the Tsar's nursing, the man asked for the Tsar's forgiveness for what he would to do. The Tsar promised him to send his own physician and man for his nursing after all would restore his brother's assets. Then the man vowed him to serve for the Tsar till his death and his sons too. Thus the enemy of the Tsar became his friend.
