The writer takes Nicola and Jacopo to their destination by his car because he admired their hard work and respects their feelings.

Though they were rich at one time but due to circumstances, both the brothers had to do petty jobs for survival yet they never wanted alms from anybody.

This aspect of the boys was very much liked by the writer.

Looking at both the boys feeling of self respect, the writer decides to give them a lift in his car to the place where their sister was being treated for tuberculosis. It is a question from the story "Two Gentlemen of Verona" by A. J. Cronin.
