Answer:

One of the most prominent scenes in the book was the “fence scene”, where Tom Sawyer was tasked by his Aunt Polly to whitewash their fence as a punishment for a prior mischief. ... At the end of that day, a dozen boys painted the fence for him while he played to his heart's desire.

Answer:

Tom discovered in the end of the task of painting the fence was Magnificent  inspiration. The ‘ magnificent inspiration’ that Tom got was to pretend that the work he was doing could only  be done by someone very skilled, and not any other ordinary boy. He would make the work look so  interesting that the other boys would want to do it, and would plead with him to let them do it. He  would show great reluctance, but would finally give in, after taking any of their valued possessions in  exchange. He tricked Jim and the other boys into doing his work for him, while he rested, along with all  the things he had taken from them in exchange.
