In the chapter the changing world of visual arts of class 10, it is stated that many European painters came to India with the ideas of oil paintings.

European artists were famous for oil paintings which was not familiar to Indian painters and those paintings were looked real and lifelike.

They were hugely influenced by the British superiority because when we see the images of some great European painters we see How British ruled India and they rule as master and take work from Indian people as servants.
