What did we learnt from the novel "the three men in the boat"

The main message of this book is to remain content in our own life and not to look for contentment outside. The three men finally decide that they are better off on the dry land. The author is largely saying to work through worries directly rather than trying to forget them, learn not to complain and be contended with what one has. It also depicts the bonding among friends.
