‘The Folded Earth’ takes one back to the chill of a small Himalayan town, during the post-colonial era.

The story is set in the foothills of the Himalayas during the post-colonial time. It tells of the heartache of a woman who has lost her husband in a trekking accident and how she settles back in life, in a small town called Ranikhet, overcoming odds. Politics, religion, border tensions between India and its neighbours – all are brought out in this story.
