You could argue that it is ambiguous without an underlying value statement. i.e. What is ‘ideal’. People might argue treagically that ‘ideal’ is not idealising. i.e. Representative democracy trades off interests in the manner of an extortion racket, so there is nothing ideal about that. Politicians evoke ‘platforms’ that are distinctly devoid of ideology, so they cannot be pinned down. In fact, its hard to ascertain what they want to evoke beyond sentiments of ‘nice outcomes’.
Minimum democracy is sceptical too of govt, though clearly sees a role for it, to offer basic functions. I want to advance anarchocapitalism, the abandonment of all govt, but the sustainability of justified functions under government by the private sector.
