What do you mean by increase in atmosphere ?
1. Is it increase in the amount of space you have
2. Increase in density of it
3. Physical parameters
If you have increase in amount of frequency it will eventually lead you to hear the voice more louder and clear to some extent of it goes beyond it then our senses can't detect it
If you have increase in atmosphere's density then it would be easy and more convenient to have sound propagation also with not much need of Carrier waves
