Our constitution makers were predominantly the members of the INC,

Hence, the leaders selected were from all over the country.

This was a great advantage because because people from different areas might have different problems. Therefore, the Indian constitution had all the CONSENSUS of the country.

The real answer : If our constitution assembly was elected, then it would be a mess. Already you know the elections in our country (The corruption) and people elected may not be from different parts of the country. Hence, Indian constitution may not have been that special as it is now.

Explanation:

The Indian law shows objectivity putting proper stress on the various rights of the citizen like right to freedom, democracy, justice, equality etc. Had the assembly been elected by universal adult franchise instead of selected ones, the constitution may have subjected amendment for trivial issues, bills would have been sanctioned under monetary bills, and the entire scenario would have facilitated a populist propaganda. This would have also put the sanctity of the preamble in question.
