There are three different and the main maps they are:

1.General Maps:They portray the geographical phenomena on maps.
2.Thematic Maps:They show a particular distribution theme.
3.Topographical Maps:They portray the natural features,man-made                                                features and cultural features like settlements,                                           temples,roads,mines,etc.They are also known                                            as 'PHYSICAL  MAPS.'
