Nij Cultivation: In this system, the planter produced indigo on those lands which were under his direct control. The planter either bought the land or rented it from other zamindars. He directly employed labourers to produce indigo.

In Ryotwari System the ownership rights were handed over to the peasants. British Government collected taxes directly from the peasants.

The Ryotwari System, instituted in some parts of British India was one of the two main system used to collect revenues from the cultivators of agricultural land. These revenues included undifferentiated land taxes and rents, collected simultaneously.

In the Nij system, the planter planted indigo in tracts of land that he directly owned. While in the Ryoti system, the planters would force the peasants, also known as the ryots, to cultivate indigo on their farms.

Here the Indigo revolt of blue rebellion mahalwari areas which are two problem and also both nij and ryotic cultivation systesm create for the cultivators in a winning way.

It is hard to expand the area of the Nij cultivation and they attempted to make better system for the people to get benefits over it.
