Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in African prison and was released in 1990.Nelson Mandela's long walk from apartheid prisoner to south African president remade a country and inspired the world.the Sharville Massacre in 1960,when south Africa police killed 69 protesters,was the last straw for Mandela and other opponents of armed struggle.
