Answer:

The difficulty that I will encounter if I only have data from two recording stations is that I may be confused about finding the exact epicenter and I will not be able to triangulate the epicenter. Using data from at least three stations require from a triangulation method gives exact location of an epicenter. If I only have data from two recording stations, then, there will be two locations which could possibly be my epicenter.

Answer:

If I have only data from two recording station than I will not be able to locate the exact location of the epicenter that causes an earthquake. It will create confusion to triangulate the exact epicenter. I need data from at least three recording station to triangulate that will give the exact location of the epicenter. Data from the two recording station will give two circles which are intersecting at the two locations that will create confusion.
