What do banks do with money collected from the consumers

Banks collect the money from the depositors or consumers are kept by the banks in small amounts. These amounts are used by them to provide loans to the borrowers. The interest given by the banks to the depositors or the consumers in very much less than the interest taken by them from the borrowers. The banks make profit from these interests.
