my friend lives on a busy road he got double glazzed windows and they eliminated most of the traffic noise. But the low frequency stuff I mentioned above goes straight through it. When you put your ear on it, there is a light hum but you can hear trucks clearly. Problem now was the walls were letting in the noise.

Take down the plaster and load the wall with insulation. This will reduce your energy costs for moderating the temperature and will help against noise. Make sure the roof has insulation too as noise will work through there.

To combat this you will need to put in layers, that's why I suggested hedges or more tree's in the front yard to make a barrier. Then put insulation in the walls, perhaps even double up the plaster.

If you can remodel your room you could put your build in wardrobe on the offending noise wall. That way there are more players protecting you from the noise.

✌✌ hope you like my answer and it may help you ❤❤☺☺
