Xylem is a conducting tissue and it is unidirectional it transports the water and minerals. It transports the water and minerals from root to shoot of the plant means it is unidirectional.. And it is a dead tissue and the xylem is very necessary for the plant growth..

Xylem tracheids is the most important tissue for conduction and xylem tracheids is a living tissue..
