There are many schools of thought in both Hinduism and Buddhism, so one can argue any of the points below
1.Both believe in enlightenment, liberation (moksha, satori, kensho)
2.They each hold there are different paths leading to enlightenment
3.Suffering stems from clinging to desire and/or the fruits of actions
Letting go of desire/fruits of actions will lead to 4.enlightenment
5.Actions generate karma, which can chain one to ongoing suffering, or even assist in liberation, if approached skillfully
6.Both tend to view the phenomenal world as not separate from ourselves, but as in some sense illusory or unworthy of attachment
