IONIC BONDING
⇒an ionic bond is the electrostatic attraction between oppositely charged ions.
⇒ionic bonds r found in ionic compounds like NaCl
⇒an ionic bong usually occours between a metal and a non metal ionic bonds involve electron transfer i.e 1 atom looses electrons and another atom gains electron
COAVALENT BONDS
⇒a coavalent bond is a chemical bond in which atoms share bonding electrons
⇒coavalent bonds are found in molecular elements like H₂ and molecular compounds like H₂o
⇒a coavalent bonds usually occours between two non metals

I will be writing this in other way, because it will be helpful for you to understand............
Ionic bond :
The chemical bond between ions is called ionic bond.
In other words, the attraction among opposite ions in ionic compounds is called ionic bond.
Held by electrostatic force.
Example : Na⁺ (2,8,1) →→→→ Cl⁻ (2,8,7)
As a result it forms, NaCl
Covalent bond:
The bond formed by mutual sharing of ions.
According to valency bond theory, covalent bond is formed as a result of overlapping of unpaired orbital to give paired electrons.
Example:
Cl₂ , CO₂
I hope my answer will be clear to you with your doubt!
