Robert Frost’s “Fire and Ice” is one of the controversial poems of him, because it associates two opposite elements. He asks the readers, which of these two elements will destroy world. Normally readers may think that it would be fire, but one cannot rightly judge that. Frost says that, both of these elements play an equal role in the process of destruction. He associates this with human emotions, he relates “fire” with human beings passion, anger and desire; he associates “ice” with humans cold heart and hatred. So, Frost says definitely too much “fire” and too much “ice” in human emotions will one day destroy the world. There should be a balance between these two elements in human emotions for the good of him and world.
