Prashastis are a unique sort of engraving, signifying "in acclaim of". They were formed by educated Brahmans in acclaim of the rulers, which may not be truly valid; but rather, they reveal to us how leaders of that time needed to outline themselves.

On the off chance that the rulers enjoyed the prashastis, they gave arrive as blessing to the Brahmans, with records of it on copper plates.

Kalhansa was a well known author who composed a long Sanskrit ballad (Rajatarangini - "The River of Kings") on rulers of Kashmir by utilizing assortment of sources, such as engravings, archives, onlooker accounts, and prior narratives. He was normally basic about rulers and their arrangements.
