1) (Resistor) of "resistance R" :-

It reduces the amount of current flowing in a closed circuit.


2) Variable Resistance or Rheostat :-

It is a variable resistance in which we can increase or decrease the amount of current flowing through it by manually increasing or decreasing resistance.

Answer:

(1)   first image is of resistor with resistance 'R'

        its function is to resist the flow of current through the conductor

(2)  second image is of the wire which are crossing without joining

      it helps in taking wire from one place to another without joining with another wire
