The two roads in the poem 'The Road not taken' symbolizes the choices one has to make in his/her lifetime.
The one which wanted wear symbolizes the choice which only a few people or no one makes and the other one symbolizes the choice which is made by many or almost all.
One can not return to the same situation from where he started or the poet can not come to the same yellow wood again to start his journey.
