Tika and Reet

Explanation:

Tika and Reet are colloquial terms connected to the marriage ceremony in Indian culture.

Tika refers to the gifts given by the girl's parents to her in-law during the marriage.

Reet refers to the gifts given by the boy's parents to his in-law during the marriage.

The issue became a social problem when Reet was not considered compulsory and Tika became a demand wherein the girl's family was harassed.
