When pesticides , rodenticides and other chemicals which are added to the field are washed by the rain they get drained into the nearby stream or lake or river . Due to the draining of the chemicals there will be algae formation in the stream . The algae slowly dies and bacteria utilizes the oxygen in order to disintegrate the dead algae . So the bacteria utilizes all the oxygen in the stream in order to disintegrate the algae resulting in the death of fishes and others due to insufficient oxygen . This is called as eutrophication .

Hope it helps u

Thanks
