axial means that the flowers are growing out of the leaf angle where it fastens to the stem.... while terminal means that the flowers are at the ends of the stem and branches.....

In plants two types of flower are classified based on the position of the flower.
The flower which grows at the tip of the plant is called as Terminal flower, whereas the flower which grows in stem regions other than tip of the plant is called as axial flower.
