Dual government means double administration system of government. In this system the government was divided into two parts Diwani and Nizamat. The administration of Diwani was under British East India company and the administration of Nizam was under the Nawab.

Answer:

For class 8 - Dual Government was a kind of government in which the Nawab and the British ruled a territory. The Nawab was in charge of law and order and the British collected Revenue. It was not a effective way of governing because neither the Nawab nor the British had complete rule over a territory.

For class 10 - Dual Government in Bengal was introduced by Robert Clive in 1765 and continued till 1772. Under this system the administration of Bengal was divided in to two parts- Diwani and Nizamat. Diwani means right to collect revenue was given to company and Nizamat means administrative rights were given to nawab.
