It was a group of 77 developing countries which did not benefit from the fast growth which the Western economies experienced in 1950s.

1) Most of the developing countries did not benefited from the fast economic growth of western countries.
2) In order to catch up with the development in advanced in the industrial countries, the developing countries organised themselves as a group of G-77 to demand a new international economy boarder
3) By this they aim to have a system that would give them control over there natural resources, fair prices for raw material, more development assistance and better access for there manufacture goods in the developed countries markets
