what do u mean by malleability and ductibility how are these different in metals and non metals grade 8th

Answer: Ductility refers to the ability of a material to stretch.

               Malleability is the ability to deform and change shape under compressive stress.

Most ductile material is platinum while Malleable one is a gold leaf.            This is the difference and definition of them.

Answer: Malleability is when we can beat something into thin sheets , metals are generally malleable but non-metals and not malleable. Metals such as Zinc , Arsenic and Antimony cannot be beaten into thin sheets these are the exceptions.

Ductility is when we can draw something into thin wires , metals are generally ductile but non-metals are not ductile. Metals such as Zinc , Arsenic and Antimony are the metals that cannot be drawn into thin wires these are the exceptions.
