The partial fluorination of nonpolar organic polyhalides with antimony triflouride in the presence of antimony pentachloride or chlorine is generally referred to as the swarts reaction . swarts is a halogen exchange reaction, this is primarily used to synthesis alklyflorides from bromohydrocompounds.
