Thermodynamics

It is the branch of science which deals with the interconversion of heat....

Thermodynamics is made of of two words "Thermo" which means heat and "Dynamics" which means motion or conversion...

The Thermodynamics is study of heat and conversion of it in various forms of energy like electric energy,etc....

Laws Of Thermodynamics:-

  1. Zeroth Law Of Thermodynamics; According to this if two systems A and B are in equilibrium with system C Seperrtaley,then A and B are also in equilibrium with each other
  2. First Law Of Thermodynamics; According tto this energy neither be created nor be destroyed.....it can only be converted from one form to another form
  3. Second Law Of Thermodynamics; The different postulates of 2nd laws are given below
  • The total entrophy of the universe is increasing
  • The 100% Efficiency can't be achieved
  • It is impossible to make a self acting machine which can transfer heat from cold body to hot body without any external agency

4.Third Law Of Thermodynamics;

The entrophy of the perfectly crystalline substance at absolute zero is zero

Some Thermodynamics Terms

  • Isothermal process:- The process in which there is no change in the temperature of the system is called isothermal process
  • Abiabatic Process:- There is no supply or removal of heat to the system
  • Isochoric Process:- No change in the volume of the system
  • Isobaric Process:- No change in pressure
