Yellow Revolution is the increase in Production of oil. It refers to the Rapid increase in Production of edible oil because of use of hybrid seeds. It was caused due to introduction of High Yielding Seeds (HYS) and better technology. The edible oil seeds are mustard, sesame, soyabean, peanut, etc. This was pioneered by Portuguese. It was also called Power people Revolution due to presence of yellow ribbons during demonstrations. It was for self sufficiency in oil and focused in Eastern, Western and Central states of India.
