Blood-filled sinuses. The cranial venous sinuses are spaces between the layers of dura mater, which covers the brain, and are lined with endothelium similar to that lining veins. These sinuses receive bloodfrom the veins of the brain, and all eventually drain into the principal vein of the neck—the internal jugular.
