Autotrophic or Holophytic Nutrition: Protozoa with chlorophyll or some allied pigment can manufacture complex organic food, like those of green plants, from simple inorganic substances, e.g., Euglena, Noctiluca. Often there may be protein bodies called pyrenoids which are the centres of photosynthesis.
