Answer ⇒ ICEBERGS.

Explanation ⇒ The big pieces of the Ice Floats on a sea are called as the Ice Bergs.

Why they Floats?

The density of the Ice Begs is less than the density of the water thus they floats over water.

When these pieces becomes too much high that is there weight is about in quintal then they are scientifically called as Glaciers.

ICE BERGS or GLACIERS are useful for our Environment and different animals.  Due to the end of some of the big Ice bergs or Glaciers many small countries are under water at present. Some are about to get under due to this. These melting of these Ice Bergs or Glaciers is due to the Effects of the Global Warming.

Hope it helps.

Iceberg: They are large masses of floating ice in free water.

Visibility: Only 10% of the size is visible above water and the rest lies submerged.

Floating Principle: The density of pure ice is high and so they float on the surface of water due to buoyancy.

In 1914, the International Ice Patrol was formed to monitor the icebergs.
