We will get bored with anything that doesn’t change or progress sooner or later.
Not everyone get bored with each other, in fact I know people who get more and more interested in each other the more they are together, but it is not the norm.
Most get bored as you say, and the simple answer is that this is because we tend to look at the solutions outside of ourselves especially in relationships.
