We learn the followings things from identifying the individuals/populations -

1. On identifying the individuals as well as the populations, we get the knowledege of the similarities and the dissimilarities prevailing in the population or the individuals.

2. Getting the knowledge of the similar and dissimilarities helps us to understand the population better.

3. This also has a very important role in helping the scientists to classify them into certain categories.
