From the fable, The Ant and the Cricket, we learn the values of hardwork. We learn that all play and no work is as bad as all work and no play. We should enjoy our present only after securing our future.

This poem conveys a very realistic message. It shows if one does not think for future, he is destined to suffer. The cricket in the story represents those human beings who are not wise enough to save for future.

The moral of the poem “The ant and the cricket” is that, if we did not work hard today we can't have a happy life tomorrow. EXPLANATION: The cricket is an insect which spends its hole day and night by singing song instead of working but mean while the ant was working hard during the summer to store food.

Answer:

The ant and the cricket is a fable in the form of poetry by Aesop. This poem is a story of a desperate and silly cricket and a miserly ant. The cricket would sing during the months of summer and spring. He never stored food for the winters. In the winter season, he finds that there is no food to eat at home. He was starving and thus, he went to the ant.
