What do we mean when limit of a function is 0?

if x is negative, going closer and closer to zero keeps f(x) at −1. So this function does not have a limit at x = 0. The limit of f(x) as x tends to a real number, is the value f(x) approaches as x gets closer to that real number. Find each of the following real limits, if they exist.
