What do we observe when red lead is treated with dilute HCl?

Hi There !

When read lead is heated with conc.HCl it gives a precipitate of lead chloride along with water and chlorine is liberated . Chlorine being greenish-yellow in colour !;)

Pb3O4 + 8HCl →3PbCl2 + 4H2O +Cl2
