When I visit an historical site, I cannot help but feel the overwhelming feeling that my existence is so unimportant compared to the site. I would usually look at it and wonder how it is possible that it stayed in the same place for so long. At times I even catch myself dwelling on the idea that once real people, from the past, were here. That this site was like a shop that we see everyday on the street, unimportant. Normal.
And now it is an historical site.
In essence, when I visit an historical place, I feel its overwhelming importance.
