Yo!

Here's the answer!

CPR is a first-aid technique used to keep victims of sudden cardiac arrest and other emergencies alive and to prevent brain damage until more advanced medical professionals can arrive. Traditional CPR has two goals: to keep oxygen flowing in and out of the lungs and to keep oxygenated blood flowing throughout the body.

Hope that this helps you!

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Explanation:

  • CPR is the first-aid lifesaving technique that is applied during emergency medical conditions or situations like near drowning, heart attack etc, when a person’s heartbeat or breathing becomes critical and stops.
  • The blood supply to the brain and all other vital organs is affected when the heart beat or breathing stops, providing CPR measures help to restore the ceased flow of oxygenated blood throughout the body which will make the person to survive.
  • CPR measures include chest compression with rescue breaths which are done through seven basic steps:
  1. Positioning of the hands  on the patient's chest
  2. Interlocking the fingers
  3. Chest compression
  4. Opening the airway
  5. Giving rescue breaths
  6. Watching the chest fall
  7. Repeating the procedures
