According to Euclid ,"A line is a breadthless length".
A line can be classified according to the number of end points which are terminating. Lines are classified into three types:-
1. Line: A line is simply a breadthless length with no end points. It is denoted by writing the line's end points, above which we place a <--> symbol.
2. Line segment: A line segment is a breadthless length with two end points. It is denoted by writing the name of the segment(denoted by its two end points) above which we place a -- symbol.
3. Ray: A ray is a breadthless length in which only one end point exists. is is denoted by writing the name of the ray(denoted by its two points) above which we place a --> symbol.

The concept about line is as follows:
- Line is a basic concept of geometry. This is an abstract idea by which our intuition is distilled that a straight line is shortest way in two points.
Types of lines are as follows:
- It has four types. These are vertical line, horizontal line, parallel lines and perpendicular line.
- Vertical line goes straight up and down, this is parallel to Y axis.
- Horizontal line runs from left to right across the page.
- Parallel lines do not meet and goes straight.
- In case of perpendicular line, at right angle two lines meet.
