Mandal commission was all about the reservations in government jobs in for SEBC i.e. for the socially and educationally backward classes like SC,ST,OBC and other backward castes,tribes and classes. It reserved 27% of seats in government jobs of SEBC’s. It was given the name by B.P mandal and was given the name of “Indira Sawhney and others vs Union of India case” and was solved by supreme court,but this had some modification as per supreme courts order. It was headed by VP singh, the leader of the Janta Dal which came to power after the Lok sabha elections in 1989 and was the seventh Prime minister of India. Finally in 1993 it was implemented with complete modifications.
